General

We aim to have your website online within 30 days of acceptance of the contract. There are variables that may delay the launch of the site, like when you’d like us to write content for you from scratch, but normally, 30 days is the maximum time we need to get your new site going.

The service is designed for small business owners on a tight budget, but we welcome any kind of business. The only restriction is that we charge in Canadian dollars. Other than that, we’d love to work with you, no matter where you are.

You own the content of the site and the domain name is registered in your name, so you can do whatever you like with those.
We extend an “unlimited lease” to the theme of the site. You can use it however you like, for as long as you have an active account with us.

You’ll have a month-to-month contract with us. That means, if for whatever reason, you want to cancel the plan, you can. We’d hate to see you go, so make sure you voice your opinion with your account manager. We just want you to be happy.

MyWebGuys.ca is operated by PoppenWorks, a web design, development and hosting team from Saskatchewan. Each of our team members have been in the industry for well over a decade. We know what we’re doing, love WordPress and figured small businesses should be able to benefit from our expertise, without breaking the bank. That’s when MyWebGuys was born.

Billing

It happens. Your account manager will be in touch with you to remind you if you missed the reminder emails.
That said, if clients don’t respond to phone calls or email and an account goes 30 past the due date of the invoice, the site will be suspended. 30 days after that, the account will be terminated. You will NOT be able to retrieve a backup of the site until the balance is paid in full.

Sure! Even better, you’ll only pay for 11 months if you pay for a full year in advance.

We want you to be happy with the service, so we’ll do whatever we can to rock your socks. However, if you’re not happy with the service and want to cancel, no problem. Please make sure you cancel before your next invoice is due. Unfortunately, we can not refund setup fees or invoices past due.

How: You can pay via credit card, PayPal, Interac e-transfer and Bitcoin. Every month, we’ll send you an invoice via email, which also contains a link that allows you to pay your bill online.
What/when: You’ll pay the setup fee upfront for us to have the website ready to go. When it’s ready, you’ll start paying the monthly fee.

Hosting

Yes. Your site is backed up once a day at 2 different locations. One is on the additional hard drive in our server, the second backup will be stored in the cloud on Amazon’s S3 service.

All websites will be served from our server location in Montreal, QC, and we have an additional “routing server” in Toronto, ON.

The plans will be based on our “2/20” plan, which gives you 2GB of drive space and 20GB of traffic. “Traffic” is comparable to the data plans you can get on your cell phone.
An average full resolution picture off a digital camera is about 3MB, so you’d be able to store over 600 pictures on your site.

WordPress

WordPress is one of the most-used CMS in the world, and therefore, your question has likely been answered before. If you contact our support team, be prepared to be referred to the WordPress documentation. If you can’t find it, no problem, we’ll help you find the solution. We’re here for you 24/7.
